Director of Program Operations

Sarah Kornhauser is the Director of Program Operations at Project Shema, where she leads the systems and process development that support the organization’s growing portfolio of trainings and programs. She works closely across the Project Shema team to ensure that programs are delivered with clarity, consistency, and impact.


Sarah brings extensive experience in program design, operational strategy, and relationship-centered project management. Her work focuses on translating complex organizational needs into practical systems that help educators and facilitators do their best work. She is particularly passionate about building structures that support collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement across teams.


Sarah has worked across the Jewish nonprofit sector in roles focused on strategy, leadership, and organizational development. She brings expertise in helping organizations scale their work, cut through complexity, and focus on clear, actionable steps that move teams forward. In addition to her work at Project Shema, she partners with leaders and organizations as a coach and advisor, supporting them in building stronger teams, navigating change, and aligning their work with their core values.


Throughout her career, Sarah has been drawn to work that helps communities navigate difficult conversations with empathy, curiosity, and accountability.  Sarah’s commitment to this work is grounded in a deep belief that strengthening relationships and understanding across difference is essential to building a more just and resilient society.
