Second Annual Artists Against Antisemitism Auction to Benefit Project Shema

Project Shema

Nov 15, 2024

The auction builds on the success of last year's inaugural auction and seeks to raise funds for Project Shema, which aims to slow the spread of anti-Jewish ideas through educational workshops and resources.

Artists Against Antisemitism (AAA) is currently hosting its second annual auction, raising funds to combat the rise in antisemitism, through beneficiaries such as Project Shema. The auction brings together bestselling authors, prominent artists, and well-known film and stage stars who donate their time, works, and resources to help money for the ongoing fight against prejudice and antisemitism.

The auction offers the opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind collectables, such as a signed and personalized book from Chelsea and Hillary Clinton or a signed script of the hit movie Kung Fu Panda. Participants can also bid on experiences with well-known celebrities, such as a conversation with The Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik or a lunch date with Emmy and Golden Globe award winner Henry Winkler.

"To be the inaugural beneficiary last year was amazing," said Oren Jacobson, Co-Founder and Executive Director at Project Shema. "We've always championed collective power and the belief that any one conversation can slow down the spread of antisemitism. That must include depolarizing difficult conversations around anti-Jewish harm that may be present in discourse around Israel and Palestine."

AAA was conceived and founded in the aftermath of the October 7th attacks on Israel and designed to create a safe space for Jewish artists and allies, as well as foster a sense of community. The auction was designed as a way to raise funds for the ongoing work to fight back against antisemitism.

This year's auction runs until November 20, 2024 and aims to surpass the amount raised last year, which netted more than $120,000. The auction can be found at https://event.auctria.com/8801e3af-8d12-4896-bb8d-6ff8ea6f803b/.
