In October 2025, reflecting on her electoral defeat of the previous year, Kamala Harris stated that
Netanyahu and the war in Gaza had weakened the Democratic administration of Joe Biden, and strengthened Republican candidate Donald Trump.
In doing so, she also showed a tendency to consider the question of an alleged genocide committed in Gaza by Israel. In May 2026, when Joseph Kent resigned from his position as director of the National Counterterrorism Center, he argued that President Trump and the United States had been drawn into the war with Iran.
