Erica Smith

Director of Operations

Erica Smith serves as the Director of Operations at Project Shema, where she leads and supports the organization’s Operational Strategy & Management, Human Resources, and Communications initiatives. She is also instrumental in advancing our workplace culture, focusing on nurturing employee psychological safety, fostering creativity, and driving community impact.


With 15 years of experience in marketing and communications, Erica brings a wealth of expertise to her role. Her diverse background spans higher education, luxury travel, and financial services. These experiences honed her ability to optimize campaigns, exhibit meticulous attention to detail, drive engagement, and cultivate strong collaborative relationships with colleagues and stakeholders alike. 


She earned a Bachelor's degree from Lafayette College in Easton, PA, where she double majored in International Affairs and Russian & East European Studies. Her semesters abroad in Saint Petersburg, Russia, and London, England, sparked a lifelong passion for international travel and cross-cultural communication.


Erica lives in central New Jersey with her husband Rick, their two elementary-school-aged children, and a very spoiled dog. She loves cold brew coffee, summers at the Jersey Shore, and is always planning her next adventure.
