          Systemic Racism and Jewish Allyship

Purpose: Understanding Systemic Racism And How To Combat It

As Jews grapple with racism with renewed focus, one of the biggest challenges we face is our own misunderstandings about what racism is and how it works. Only by exploring systemic racism, and the root cause of white supremacy, can we actually understand how to combat racism in America effectively. In order for Jews to show up meaningfully in the fight against racism, we must be willing to explore these deeply complex ideas. In keeping with our Jewish values, we explore how to better support other marginalized communities, which is how we will build strong, meaningful relationships.

Systemic Power, The Three Pillars, and Israel

Purpose: Understanding The Progressive View Of Israel

The dynamic of individual versus systemic power is critical to understanding the modern progressive movement. So is the impact systemic power has on marginalized individuals, including Jews, and the three structural pillars which maintain systemic power itself. Without this understanding, it can be difficult to build strong, meaningful relationships with progressives, let alone engage in healthy and productive dialogue on antisemitism or Israel.

Building A Shared Frame And Language

Purpose: Explore Progressive Criticisms Of Israel And Learn The Skills Necessary To Engage Productively With Progressives

Without a shared values, language, experiences, or a shared view of the world, our words may be misunderstood. Or, they may be perceived as harmful, causing potentially positive dialogues to fall apart quickly. Building upon the previous training, participants will learn the skills necessary to improve their engagement with the progressive movement.

          A Blueprint For Bridge Building

Purpose: Learn A Roadmap For More Effective Conversations With Progressives On Issues Of Core Concern To American Jews

Without the ability to effectively tell our story, our concerns often go unheard. Or, we may be unable to build the personal connections necessary to engage in difficult conversations. Building upon the understandings from previous trainings, we provide a specific, concrete roadmap to improve engagement with progressives generally, and specifically around issues like anti-Jewish bias and Jewish national self-determination in Israel.

          Understanding Antisemitism For Progressives

Purpose: Understand What It Is, How It Works, How To Spot It, And Why We Must Address It Head On In Our Movements/Communities

Antisemitism is the oldest form of hate on earth. The Jewish people, a community of roughly 16 million people on earth, have faced marginalization, oppression, and horrific violence in every society, and in every era for thousands of years. Just as white supremacy is engrained in the DNA of our society, so is antisemitism. This training is designed to help progressive leaders/organizations understand antisemitism and why addressing it everywhere, including within our communities and movements, is necessary to shared liberation.
